Signs of dehydration you should Beware


Signs of dehydration – Dehydration occurs when a person loses more fluid than the liquids in drink (a deficit of liquid), so that the body does not have enough water and other fluids to perform normal functions.

The cause of the dehydration most often include intense diarrhea, vomiting, fever or sweating excessively.Not drinking enough water during hot weather or exercise of excess can also cause dehydration. Anyone can experience dehydration, but children, the elderly and people with chronic disease most at risk against dehydration and dangers that may be caused.

One can cope with mild to moderate dehydration by drinking more liquids, but severe dehydration requires immediate medical care. The safest approach is to prevent dehydration by way of monitoring Your fluid loss when the weather is hot, sick or exercising, and drinking enough fluids is adapted to their needs.

It is very important to know the signs of dehydration that you be vigilant so that it can immediately be addressed before falling on heavy dangerous dehydration.

Signs of dehydration in accordance with degree of dehydration itself, here is divided into: a mild-moderate degree of Dehydration and severe Dehydration.

Signs of mild to moderate degrees of dehydration:

* Dry Mouth
* Drowsiness or fatigue – children tend to be less active than usual
* The Thirst
* A decrease in urine output – diaper remain dry for three hours for infants and eight or more hours without urination in children and adolescents
* Little or no tears when crying
* Dry skin
* Headache
* Constipation
* Dizziness

Signs of severe Dehydration:

* Extreme thirst Very fussy or drowsiness in infants and children, irritability and confusion (concentration less) in adults
* The mouth, skin and mucous membranes very dry
* A little Sweat despite the hot air
* Little or no urination – every urine produced will be dark yellow or brownish
* Sunken eyes
* Skin wrinkles and dry, less elastic (turgor down) so that when in a pinch not fast back (fixed wrinkle)
* In infants, fontanel (Cantle) concave
* Low blood pressure
* Fast heartbeat
* A quick breath no tears when crying
* Fever In the most serious cases, delirium or unconscious.

Signs of dehydration: leather dicubit back slow (decreased skin turgor).

Take note!! – Thirst is not always a reliable measure to know the body will need water, especially in children and older adults. A better indicator is the color of urine (urine): If clear-colored urine means you are properly hydrated, while the color of the urine dark yellow or yellow usually indicate dehydration. –

When To See A Doctor?
If you are a healthy adult, you can usually cope with mild to moderate dehydration by drinking more liquids, such as water or sports drinks (pocari sweat, Powerade, and others).

Get medical care right away if you develop severe dehydration signs and symptoms such as extreme thirst, lack of urination, skin wrinkles, dizziness and confusion.

Treat the children and the elderly with care. Call your doctor if:

There are severe diarrhea, with or without vomiting or fever
Bloody CHAPTER
Experiencing diarrhea are three days or more
Easily offended or confused and much sleep or less active than usual.
There are signs or symptoms mild or moderate dehydration

Go to the emergency room (ER) to the nearest hospital, if babies/children or elderly is dehydrated.

You can help prevent dehydration in order not to weight carefully monitor someone who is ill and administering fluids, such as oral rehydration solution (ORS and others) at the time of the early onset of diarrhea, vomiting or fever and by encouraging children to drink plenty of water before, during and after exercise.

Remember always the signs of dehydration, watch yourself and family, because preventing is better than cure.
